*First Gaming Playday for Dita and Laira*

12-13-2009

Dita and Laira competed in their FIRST gaming playday at the Canby Fairgrounds. Dita is 7 years old and a student of mine. She has been riding for the past year but only for about 2 months with me. We jogged our patterns this time :-) For the first ever playday for both of them they ROCKED it! We had our ups and downs but ended on a good note, had a great time and came home with 3 fifths and 1 fourth place! Way to go Dita and Laira!

Look for us at the January 16th and 17th Winter Woolies show at the Clark County Fairgrounds!

FOR LEASE - Proven Show horse

FOR LEASE

Chase is HOME! At least for a short period of time and he is an even better horse than he was. His pleasure training has continued for the past year.

CHASE IS FOR LEASE prefer a young teenager or adult that would like to show this winter. Short term lease 4-6 months. Our show schedule is set for this year with a show in January, February and March. Lease would include ALL tack, ALL care, and 2-3 rides per week with a once weekly lesson for just $300 for the right rider lessons may not be necessary in which case the lease is $200 and includes everything except the lessons.

Rider is responsible for hauling fees (I haul or you haul if you have a trailer) and all show fees!

A little about Chase. Registered Arabian "FHA Sunchaser" 11 years old. 14.3 hands, chestnut with a star and left hind.

He is pleasure trained, English, Western, Bareback, Halter and some showmanship. With his look, build, and beautiful head he is a great halter horse. Sensitive, willing, responsive but smart and kind. Does best with an intermediate rider just because he aims to please and is show horse trained. Verbal cues as well as seat, hand and leg cues. Rides in snaffle, shank, or a rope halter. Collects and sets his head nicely, two tracks, lateral work, sidepass, forehand and haunch turns, not super hot but forward like an arabian. Sensible is the key word to describe Chase. Beautiful mover!

Pictures in the Sold horses and Past Horses section from when I owned him. Picture below was taken last weekend after he got to our barn.

I submitted a photo of Laira with Julianna and it was Published in the most recent addition of the Arabian Horse Times, page 50. I haven't found a way to just download the page. Probably have to have a better version of Adobe.

I will be buying a ton of copies for the family :-) Julianna and Laira are famous, well at least famous in my world :-)

BIG NEWS!

BEAN WAS FABULOUS!!! We placed Second in Maiden Horse on Thursday and Second in Maiden Horse on Friday. We still don't have the scores yet for Saturday. I loaded up and headed home after Saturday. I was the unfortunate recipient of a kick from another horse while waiting in the in gate. We weren't going to stick around for longer than we had to after that incident. Horses will be horses it was just dumb luck.

We finished the weekend showing in 2 and under and Maiden horse all three days. Bean was never excused from an obsticle and always tried. We had our first experience with water when he had to go into the pond. He figured that out pretty quickly and was willing to do it again! There will be tons of pictures once I get them downloaded! As well as the photographer that was onsite. Those photos as well as our results should be posted at http://www.oregonhorsecenter.com/ by or around Tuesday. I will post our final results once I get them!

Another Big News Event.

I was  the lucky Bidder/Winner of the Stud Fee for HH Bean Muscat! I will be breeding either Laira next year or possibly.....not sure yet. I'm thinking a palomino half arab has a certain appeal as does an Anglo Arabian  with some good size. So many possibilities.

The National Mountain Trail Championship is starting a new Futurity Program. The resulting foal will be eligible for the futurity from a Weanling till the age of 5!!! That is 6 good years of prize money. I'm SO excited!!!

Updates on Bean

Posted by cowboyjerryshorses at 11:21 AM on October 30, 2009 Comments comments (0)

I'm just proud of my baby Beanie. He went for his first haul last night in preparation for the BIG haul on Saturday to the Vineyard Stable Open Equine Classic. Bean will be attending the show and will be shown in EVERY halter class he is eligible for.

Not only did he haul, load, unload and then load and unload again but he is now FULLY body clipped! First clipping session went excellent! Fully body clip, face shaved, ears trimmed, eyes and nose fully clipped. Wearing a blanket and a head sleazy to tame his wild Fro of a mane. We are ready for the show!

Now trotting in hand, learning to stand with a stretch, just an excellent super easy to work with baby. Tries really hard with a little positive reinforcement. In your pocket personality and always willing.

Will be posting results of the show. Super proud of my little Beanie.
