Cowboy Jerry's Horses

Happy Customers Testimonials

Kellsie and her horse Ruger came to us in September of 2009. Ruger had learned to buck and was using his new found skill to intimidate his teenage owner. After 30 days with Jerry and several long hard trail ride Ruger is being used for lessons and is a nice pleasure horse. Way to go Jerry, Ruger and Kellsie! In Kellsies words...

I just wanted to say thank you again for everything that you and Jerry have done.  I came out and rode Ruger today and I started thinking about how terrified I was to ride him just a couple months ago.  These days it doesn't even cross my mind that he might start bucking,  even if he did I know I'm confident enough to handle the problem and make sure it doesn't happen again.  I can't thank you guys enough for fixing both of us. =]

From Rosemary...

I have just recently switched farrier service to use Jerry Hardman and I am extremely pleased with his work.  My horse was coming off an injury, suspensory, collateral ligament and navicular cartlidge all involved.  Over the six month recovery he would come up lame for a couple of days after being trimmed but the first time Jerry did him, he was fine – no sign of lameness at all.  I highly recommend Cowboy Jerry.

We sold a Buckskin mare to Gail and her Family in 2007. Since then we see Gail on a regular basis. Our relationship started with her purchasing a horse. Then turned into weekly lessons with her grandchildren and regular farrier work for her 4 horses.

We have had Jerry shoeing our horses for over a year and a half. He does great work. We have horses who don't wear shoes and also those who do. He does a great job in both instances and also treats any fungus or abnormality and brings it to our attention (and not just about feet, he looks at the whole horse). He charges a fair price and is a great guy bestides. He also shows up when he's supposed to and calls to remind us of our next appointment.

When I realized I was at a place in life where I could finally realize my dream of owning my own horse, I was lucky enough to meet Jerry and Audra.  After taking a couple lessons with Audra, she knew what I was looking for and started the hunt for a good equine fit for me.  After looking at a couple, we finally found my Em.  She was a 17 yr old solid paint mare, who has been my shadow ever since I bought her in July of ’07.  She is a true gem, and I thank Audra for finding her for me!

After we had her a couple months, I decided she needed to have a companion.  J  After all, you can’t have just one!!  Audra again began a search for another good fit.  That is when we found May, our 15 yr old quarter horse mare.  She’s used to be a sheriff posse horse, but had some time off.  It’s amazing to see her light up as she remembers how much fun it is to hit the trails!

If you have a question or concern, Audra and Jerry are there for you.  They truly care about horses, and are dedicated to making sure you understand how to care for them yourselves.  From training to trimming to trail riding, you couldn’t ask for a better team to work with!  Thanks Jerry and Audra for all you’ve done for us, and all you continue to do!!

Alison and Family purchase Logan the black mustang/draft horse from Storey County

Hi Audra and Jerry,

The sweet guy made it home just fine, and is fitting in well with his traveling companion, the pony Berry, and our gelding draft/quarterhorse, Boo. We introduced them slowly, saw a few fireworks as usual, and then everyone settled down and ate. I think he is an excellent fit, he is so friendly and sensible, I really like him a lot. Such a pretty boy when he trots, with his tail held high!

He misses you, Jerry, and I bet you miss him too. We will keep you updated, and give him extra lovin' so he won't be lonesome.

I must say this has been one of the more feel-good horse transactions I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of. It is obvious that you guys are ethical, caring, and sane. Why is that so hard to find in the equine community?!? This is a good fit all around.

All the best,
Alison and Family

Our family purchased our first horse a little over a year ago and really had no clue what we were in for.  The idea of training a horse, or training ourselves, was pretty much a foreign concept to us.  Although our horse was very well mannered and patient, our lack of consistency and control slowly led to poor habits and we needed help.  After nearly giving up, we called Cowboy Jerry and had a lesson with Audra.  We were amazed to see her take control of our horse, communicating with him in a way that we never thought possible.  After just a few lessons, our confidence had grown immensely and the behavior of our horse was markedly improved.  At that point, we decided to purchase a second horse, specifically a small painted mare.  Again Cowboy Jerry was there to help, both in examining the horse, assisting with the negotiation, and also in providing lessons.

We wholeheartedly would recommend Cowboy Jerry for anyone interested in horses.  Whether you are thinking about purchasing a first horse and want some lessons prior to making a commitment, own horses and need to improve on your skills, or are in the market to buy or sell a horse, your first call should be to Cowboy Jerry’s.  Not only will they make you laugh and enjoy your horse in a fun way, they will also teach you and your horse to better communicate, making your riding experience much more enjoyable.

Thank you,

Linda and Katie Purchased "Free Rox" or Elvis as he is lovingly called in March of 2007. Elvis has brought us all together and now I see Katie and Elvis almost weekly for 4-H. Thank you Linda, Katie and Elvis :-)

My daughter Katie purchased Elvis, a 7 year old Thoroughbred gelding, through Audra on March 20, 2007.  We visited Elvis several times before buying him.  Audra was always pleasant to work with and eager to answer our questions.  After having Elvis for 6 months we decided he needed more training for the kind of riding my daughter would be doing.  Audra and Jerry's expertise were exactly what Katie and Elvis needed.  We were impressed that they would travel to our barn and teach Katie how to teach Elvis.  I would say that Jerry and Audra have gone above and beyond anything we could have expected.  Their commitment to making sure the right rider is matched with the right horse is impressive.  This is more than just a business transaction to them.  They really care about their horses and the people that buy them.

Congrats to Katie and Elvis on winning 14-17 youth English highpoint at the

Thorougbred Exhibitors Show May 17th, 2009!!! We couldn't be more

proud of these two working as a team! -Audra & Jerry
